Table of Contents
Project Context
Marketing technical B2B products is hard: low engagement, hard to demonstrate value, skepticism toward vendor claims, and limited virality.
Insight: developers love challenges. “Find a bug in code” is a natural task that engages, demonstrates value (PVS‑Studio finds them instantly), creates a wow‑effect, and spreads organically.
Goal
Build a gamified platform that engages devs (C++/C#/Java), demonstrates product value with aha‑moments, collects leads (email for promo codes), and works as evergreen content.
Solution
“Find a bug in real code”:
- 10 code fragments from well‑known OSS projects
- 60 seconds each
- Click the buggy line
- Instant feedback and explanations
- Final score + promo code reward
UX: tutorial, code with syntax highlight, timer, feedback loop, score, leaderboard, social sharing with generated OG assets; TypeScript codebase; Prism/Highlight.js themes.
Results
Higher engagement, clear product value demonstration, lead capture, shareable content.
Lessons
Gamification works when it teaches something real and ties directly to the product’s core value.
