Vascular Surgery Institute CRM — Medical Information System

Custom CRM on Delphi + SQL Server to automate a research institute. Patient registration, medical records, anamnesis, discharge summaries. First experience in medical IT.

What Was Needed

Move the hospital’s “thick folders” into a system where a patient’s record opens with one click instead of being hunted in archives. Add reports, stats, and role‑based access — all on a local network with no internet requirements.

What I Built

  • Client‑server on Delphi + SQL Server Express.
  • Registration, visits, anamnesis, prescriptions, discharge summaries — workflows physicians actually use.
  • Crystal Reports for leadership and operational paperwork.

2006, no “clouds” and no web in the staff room: everything ran on the institute’s server and local PCs. Reliable and fast.

Results

  • Charts aren’t lost and don’t “sit with cardiology until Monday.”
  • Stats run in minutes, not a week of spreadsheets.
  • Doctors spend less time searching and more with patients.

Lessons

  • The user is a doctor, not an IT person. Interfaces must be simple.
  • Offline architectures are fine if they solve the problem better than the cloud.
