Why We Built It
To turn a regular music CD into a small event: insert the disc and, instead of Explorer, a beautiful app launches with music, photos, and the artist’s story.
Context of the Era
2009: physical discs still sold; “interactive CD” increased perceived value. Autorun was marketing at the medium level.

- Bonus content and branded UI increase perceived value and loyalty.
- The difference from pirate copies is not just sound — it’s the experience.
What I Built
- Delphi autorun app with the BASS player embedded.
- Custom UI in the musician’s style, lyrics, bio.
- One‑click player — no fighting Windows Media Player.
2009 was the last moment physical media still had soul. This project is a postcard from that era.
Lessons
- Experience starts before the first note: packaging and first contact matter more than most think.
- Even a small desktop app can add “wow” to music.
